Your future will change depending on the environment you are in
A job where you can utilize what you have learned and what you like
When I entered Osaka Sangyo University and thought about my future, I wanted to aim higher and decided to study in the Advanced Career Course. In the Advanced Career Course, I am learning more about domestic and international situations, such as prices and exchange rates, which are constantly changing, from the perspective of economics. While studying to become a national civil servant, I sometimes visit overseas countries, which I love, to refresh myself. During that time, I had the opportunity to hear about the work of the customs office and felt that it was a good fit for me. Not only would I be able to put what I learned in the Advanced Career Course to good use, but I would also be able to interact with people from overseas. Having found the career I wanted, I studied harder and was able to receive a job offer.
What helped me do my best was the presence of ambitious friends
-
The Advanced Career Course is filled with ambitious students, so we can improve each other while learning. I studied under Professor Otani, and in addition to the regular lectures, there was a special lecture once a week that we could attend voluntarily. Of course, I also attended the lectures held during the summer vacation with my classmates. I was never good at studying, so I told myself, "I have to work harder than others because I am not as good as others," and worked hard. Thanks to my efforts, I was able to achieve better results than I expected in the Economics Proficiency Test (ERE Proficiency Test) that I took in my second year. I think the reason I was able to try anything was because I was able to have a high level of awareness in the Advanced Career Course.
Start preparing for job hunting early and do lots of it
When I look back on my four years at university, I can proudly say, "I worked hard at both my studies and job hunting!" Of course, it's important to have goals, but what's important is what you do afterwards. For example, in a written exam, the results will be different between someone who solves only half of the questions and someone who goes through them three times. Even if you're nervous at the beginning of an interview, you'll get used to it and won't be nervous after a few times. I often used Career Center, which supports job hunting, so I think that preparing early will also help you gain confidence.
