A fulfilling four years, balancing studies and club activities

I have had a strong sense of justice since I was a child, and my desire to protect the people close to me led me to become a police officer. I chose Osaka Sangyo University because my high school advisor, who was a graduate of Osaka Sangyo University. He was the world's best Shorinji Kempo martial artist, so I wanted to be as successful as him. In the economics course I am studying, by learning the theories that underlie economics, I can learn the joy of understanding the economic phenomena that occur every day in society. In particular, I liked geography, which teaches the characteristics of regions and countries and the unexpected connections between countries, and life economics, which focuses on the economic aspects of daily life in families. Both subjects are very interesting and fun, so I think even people who are not good at studying can enjoy learning them. In lectures, the teachers explained things in an easy-to-understand way, and I was able to study without giving up by getting help from my friends, so I feel that I was in a very favorable environment for studying. As a result, I was able to get a job offer to become a police officer, which was my dream, and I was able to win the individual championship at the intercollegiate championships. I am really glad that I enrolled in Osaka Sangyo University because I was able to live a fulfilling university life by balancing my studies and club activities.

Being given a new position has helped me grow as a person

• I served as captain of the Shorinji Kempo club, and as an executive member of the Kansai Student Shorinji Kempo Federation, I prepared for tournament operations. Being entrusted with a position gave me a sense of responsibility, and interacting and cooperating with others helped me develop my communication skills. Before I entered university, I was easily influenced by others, but now I have a strong sense of will. By interacting with many people in my department and club activities, I have become able to consider things from the other person's perspective.

It is important not to worry about job hunting alone, but to consult with people around you.

During the summer vacation of my third year, I participated in the SPI course held by the Qualification Support Center, and since the teacher in charge was a civil servant course teacher, I asked him which study materials would be good for studying for the civil servant exam. The past exam collection he recommended helped me study very well, so even when choosing a study material, I think it's a good idea to consult with your teacher to get detailed information. I used Career Center to prepare for job hunting, and at home I used Google search and YouTube. I made good use of the time I spent at home, such as practicing interviews by myself using videos as a reference. Several seniors in my club have become police officers and firefighters, so it was also helpful to hear various stories about job hunting.
