Faculty of Business Management Department of Commercial Sciences
Department of Commercial Sciences is promoting active learning. This year, multiple seminars are working with companies and organizations, mainly in the local Daito area, to discover and share management issues in their areas of activity and attempt to solve these issues using knowledge from their respective fields of expertise. As a result of joint research with the Business Co-Creation Association (Representative Director Atsushi Yamanouchi), the Suzuki seminar, which specializes in marketing theory, has commercialized a student idea and is conducting crowdfunding for approximately 40 days from January 20, 2022.

I have wanted to be a hotel concierge since I was in junior high school. Guests encounter various situations in a hotel. A hotel concierge is someone who solves the requests and problems of guests staying at a hotel. They read the "voice" that is not always expressed and respond flexibly, and sometimes...
Crowdfunding is a method of fundraising, sales promotion, and test marketing that is gaining attention these days, whereby entrepreneurs start new businesses by collecting small amounts of money from an unspecified number of people over a certain period of time. The joint research with our university began before the association was established, when Yamanouchi was the representative of GLC Japan Co., Ltd., a leather goods manufacturer, and is now entering its fifth year. After four seasons of trial and error, this is Suzuki's third attempt at crowdfunding.
The new product is called "Straky." It is a leather key case that can be attached to a bag. The product idea was conceived by Minami Kawabe (3rd year). "I wanted to solve the everyday problem of people carelessly tossing their house or bike keys into a bag filled with textbooks and small items, only to have a hard time finding them at the bottom," she said. Starting last spring, she took advantage of class opportunities to move the process forward one step at a time, from market research to product development.
Marketing is a comprehensive activity that companies use to reach out to customers. In addition to creating a product, it is essential to communicate the appeal of the product. Inevitably, various processes follow. A team structure was established to create the page on the crowdfunding site. Three students, Mayu Okada, Hinano Kawabuchi, and Erika Shimazaki (all third-year students), joined the team and helped with the product description, naming, coming up with a catchphrase, and taking photos, reflecting each person's special skills and individuality.
And now the crowdfunding campaign has begun. For more information on the product and other related information, please see the link below.
